Mae White

April 12, 1931 — January 21, 2007

Mae Jerolee White, 75, of Bluefield, departed this life on January 21, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family, following a short illness. Born April 12, 1931 in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Mamie Bowden Taylor. She was a Family Nurse Practitioner in Bluefield employed by Dr. Sekkarie. She was a dedicated health care professional who received her Family Nurse Practitioner License at the age of 70. This achievement was the culmination of a life long career in nursing which included a B.S. in Nursing from West Virginia University and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Radford University. Mrs. White was a member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church at Talcott where she served as pianist for the past 45 years. She is survived by her husband, Billy J. White; two daughters, Kathy Vaughan of Washington, D.C. and Lisa White of Chicago, Il; one son, Bill White of Bluefield, WV; four grandchildren, Tom Aldridge, David Aldridge, Tatiana Vaughan and Lennon White; one great-granddaughter, Sofia Nelson; three sisters, Exrea Spence of Crozet, VA, Sarah Lackey of Martinsville, VA and Jo Ellen Halloran of Talcott; one brother, George Taylor of Nimitz. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Rollynsburg Baptist Church in Talcott with Pastors Dana Stalnaker and Clarence Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton and one hour prior to service time at the church. Dickie Halloran, Basil Staverkis, Jimmy White, Junior Merrill, Bobby Thompson and Johnny Richmond will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations of sympathy be made to the Bluefield State College Foundation, 219 Rock St. Bluefield, WV 24701, in memory of Mae Jerolee White.
Viewing Information: 6-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Rollynsburg Baptist Church.
