Margaret Ellen "Midge" Lucas Stowers, 64, of Chestnut Mountain formerly of Fireco entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Born April 4, 1953 at Summers County she was a daughter of the late George Robert "Dink" and Lucy Mae Lilly Lucas.
Margaret was a longtime contributor to St. Jude Foundation. She attended Elk Knob Baptist Church. Margaret was a homemaker and beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed gardening, canning, farming and caring for her cattle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary R. Stowers; two sons, James Robert Stowers and Victor Lee Stowers; one granddaughter, Ashley and two brothers, Chuck Lucas and Bob Lucas.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Greg Stowers and wife Rosie of Beckley; three daughters, Loretta Stowers-Breedlove and husband Scott of Beckley, Lucy Stowers Lester and husband Stephen of Hinton and Kayla Stowers of Beckley; companion of many years, Ronald "Penny" Ward; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren and four sisters, Peggy Shrewsbury and companion Roger Ferguson of Ellison, Dianna Cox and husband Randy of Dunns, Jerrie Farley and husband Tommy of North Carolina and Leta Fary and husband Randall of Greenbrier County.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm Wednesday December 20, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Cecil Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennings-Stowers Cemetery at Odd.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
