Marlin M. Meadows, 88, of Hinton, died 9:15 P. M. Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton, following a long illness. Born May 9, 1916 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Jasper and Ida Sheppard Meadows and was the last surviving member of his family. Mr. Meadows was retired from the C & O Railroad with 33 years of service and a member of International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers. He was a member of the Community Church in Hinton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Donnie Ward Meadows, two sons, Marlin and Marvin Meadows, four brothers Theodore, Steward, Howard and Emory Meadows, one adopted sister, Dorothy Romanello and two son-in-laws, Kenneth Gilpin and David Foster. Survived by five daughters Bettie (Darrell) Gwinn of Jumping Branch, Yonnie (Wayne) Bennett of Madams Creek, Hinton, Janice (Poody) Ballard of Bellepoint, Wilma Foster of Columbus, OH. Marlene ?Chubby? ( Paul) Townsley of Danville, WV, one son Terry ?Snookie? (Susan) Meadows of Madams Creek, Hinton, seventeen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, four step great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 P. M. Friday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, with Pastors Eddie Via and Carl Edwards officiating. Burial will in the Hilltop Cemetery at Hinton. Friends may call from 6 ? 9 P. M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
