Martha Virginia Bennett Harrah, 85, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born March 3, 1939 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Mary Goldie Breen Bennett.
Martha was a member of Martha Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired as a housekeeper at Pipestem State Park. Martha enjoyed gardening, her beloved dog “Bear”, fishing and spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Harrah; one son, Tommy Harrah; one grandson, Judson Yopp and siblings, Joe Bennett, Andy Bennett, Lloyd Bennett, Ronald Bennett, Robert Bennett, Mary Bragg, Thelma Martin and Lola Ratliff.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Mary Ann Crawford, Sharon Harrah Dodd, Loretta Richmond and husband Melvin and Eddie Ray Harrah; 13 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold Bennett and Donald Bennett; daughter in law, Valerie Harrah and special friends, Patty Yopp and Vicky Graham.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Ed Dolphin and Ron Iddings officiating. Burial will follow in the Breen Cemetery near Hinton. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Richmond, Tommy Joe Harrah, Cory Martin, Joey Harrah, C.J. Cook, Brady Cook and Jonathan Smith.
