Martha J. Overbay Bennett

     Martha J. Overbay Bennett, 69, of Beckley went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.

     Born December 20, 1952 in Raleigh County, WV she was a daughter of the late Joseph R. and Betty Dillon Overbay.

     Martha was a member of the Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church and attended Glen Morgan Baptist Church.  She was a former employee of ACME Markets. Martha enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with family as long as her health permitted.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Lee Bennett and one brother, Jimmy Overbay.

     Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Beverly Bennett Caldwell of Lexington, VA; one special nephew whom she considered a grandson, Samuel Miller; five siblings, Joseph R. Overbay Jr. and wife Joyce, Betsy West and husband Mike, Ora Overbay, Morgan Overbay and Roger Overbay and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she loved dearly.

     Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Junior Moye and Eddie Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vest Family Cemetery at Madams Creek.  Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
