Mary Bowles

Mary Magdalene Wood Bowles, 92, of Sandstone went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 30, 2021 following a long illness.

Born March 24, 1929 at Hix she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Wood.

She was a member of the Ramp Holiness Church where she attended as long as her health permitted, was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, canning, watching Christian programs on television, as well as Little House on the Prairie.  Mary had a servant’s heart and loved spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death include her husband, Jack Herman Bowles; one daughter, Marie Ann Ezard; three brothers, Madison, William, and Kyle Wood; two sisters, Margaret Ballengee and Goldie Ford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Montie Bowles and wife Birdie of Sandstone, Roger Bowles and wife Karen of Lancaster, PA, Richard Bowles and wife Deborah of Daniels, Milton Bowles and girlfriend Betty Berry of Sophia, and Loretta Bowles of Sandstone; ten grandchildren, Marty, Russell, April, Sally, Lisa, David, Michelle, Brian, Bradley, and Rachel; twenty-eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Felix Baker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery at Sandstone.  Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral parlors.  Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
