Mary Deloris Thompson, 88 of Meadow Creek, passed into eternal rest in the Lord

on August 6, 2012 at the Raleigh General Hospital surrounded by family.

Born August 5, 1924 at Sandstone, WV daughter of the late Mose and Clarice Taylor

Richmond. Beside her parents preceded in death by two brothers Charles Thomas Richmond and William Mose Richmond Jr., one sister Geraldine Thompson. Deloris lived most of her life in Meadow Creek, WV. She was a member of Meadow Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active Sunday School teacher until her illness. She will be remember for her love for the Lord, her devotion to family whom she loved very much and friends.

Survived by her husband of 66 years Harry Thompson, two daughters; Barbara Kay Stone and husband Oliver of Meadow Bridge and Shelma Ruth Ward and husband Jackie of Meadow Creek; six grandchildren, James Robert Stone, Lori Leigh and Steven Odum, Jodi Daine Miller and husband Steve, Christy Dawn Allen and husband Richard, Joni Nicole Fitzpatrick and husband Danny, and Heath Ward; sixteen great grandchildren, Andy and Griffin Stone, Cordell and Trisha Odum, Nate, Devin and Jordan Farley, Karlee Furrow, Hannah, Gracie and Heather Allen, Bobby, Kasey and Ty Fitzpatrick, Emilee and Jessie Ward; and one great great granddaughter, Baleigh Fitzpatrick; two brothers, Robert T. Richmond and wife Joann of Deleware, Melvin E. Richmond and wife Shelva of Lockbridge; two sisters, Margie Moon and husband Tom of Richmond, VA and Carol Kelley of Meadow Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors George Cook and Harry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the funeral parlors. Family will serve as pallbearers.
