Mary Humphries

Mary Linda Jane Adkins Humphries, 56, of Talcott died at 3:17 P.M. Monday June 19, 2006 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born October 19, 1949 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late Basil and Ocie â??Vernaâ?? Bennett Adkins. A former employee of Simmonâ??s Foodland and she worked as a dispatcher for the City of Hinton Police Dept. for many years, member of the Hinton Gospel Tabernacle. Preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond â??Sonnyâ?? Graham and Eugene â??Geneâ?? Adkins; and one sister, Geraldine Wills. Survived by two sons, David Humphries and wife Cheryl of Blue Ridge, VA and Troy Humphries of Talcott; former husband and friend, Gilbert Petrey of Hilldale, and four grandchildren, Kyle and Emilee Humphries of Blue Ridge, VA and T.J. and Harley Humphries of NC. Funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Lawrence Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
