Mary Lawson

Mary Belle Lawson, 89, of Hinton, formerly of Charleston, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at her home, following a short illness. Born November 3, 1917 at Hinton, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Hattie Echoles Lawson Sr. Mary was a member of the First Christian Church of Hinton. She was retired from the Medical Records Department of Charleston Area Medical Centers. She was a past member of the Kanawha Trail Club and enjoyed photography and art. She was an avid cyclist, enjoyed roller skating and was an annual participant of the Stern Wheel Regatta in Charleston for many years. Preceded in death by one brother; Ernest Lawson Jr., one sister-in-law, Athleen Lawson and one niece; Linda Lawson. Survived by two nephews; Ernest (Sonny) Lawson and wife Sandy of Summersville and Jim Lawson and wife Cathy of Covington, VA, several great nieces and nephews and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. on Sunday. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
