Mary Reta McKeown

     Mary Reta McKeown passed on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at her home.  

     Born on Vickers Ridge in Roane county she was a daughter of the late Howard and Goldie Rhodes Cox.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Jiggs” McKeown and five brothers, Mayford, Roy, Raymond,  Robert and Harold Cox.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Anna March and husband John of Saint Albans and Barbara Kearns of Charleston; one son Adam McKeown and wife Edna of Hinton; two brothers, Ernest Cox and Richard Cox; two sisters, Alice Cox and Loraine Cox; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way.

     She was known as Granny to everyone and she loved to work. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

      At Mary’s request there will be no services and her body will be cremated.
