Mary Ruth Morris "Ruth" was granted her angel wings on September 20, 2014. Ruth was born in Raleigh County on April 23, 1947, to her mother, Mary Frances Worley Meador of Streeter and late Billy Meador .
Ruth was married to the late Leland Morris and is survived by her sons, David, Scottie, Michael, Bill, John Morris; daughter, Tonya Morris; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Aleece Linton, Suzy Mantel, and Vivian Meador.
Ruth resided in Jumping Branch, WV, for the last twenty-seven years. Before returning to WV, she enjoyed a very successful career with the federal government. She retired as the head of a computer scientist department under the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This quiet unassuming woman held a degree in mathematics from Ohio University and a MBA from the University of Maryland.
Ruth loved all creatures great and small but found her greatest joy in caring for her beloved cats.
The family would like to give thanks to her church Mary Jane Memorial for their amazing love and support. They would also like to thank the Bower Hospice House in Beckley for their kindness in such a difficult time. She will be greatly missed by all that loved her.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Ernest Calfee officiating with burial following in the Worley Family Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral parlors on Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
