Mary Imogene Richmond, 79, of Elk Knob took her journey home Saturday November 26, 2016 at her home following a long illness.
Born May 21, 1937 at Hix she was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Atha R. Gillian Ward. Imogene was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Summers Co. and a member of Bennett Memorial Chapel. She enjoyed canning, gardening, red birds, quilting, embroidering and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and aunt.
Preceded in death by her husband Charles O. Richmond; one brother, Roy M. Ward and two sisters, Mildred Ward and Dorothy Sears.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Mary Ann Smith and husband Billy of Vanceburg, KY, Doris Naik of Elk Knob and Lisa Richmond and husband Shane of Hinton; two granddaughters, Abby and Tasha Naik; two sisters, Mogene Dobbins of Elk Knob and Anna Waugh of Lewisburg; two sisters in law, Frances Ward of FL and Mary Richmond of Hix; several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly and two special friends and caregivers, David and Bonnie Martin of Chestnut Mt.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday November 30, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Travis Hocum and Benny Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery on Chestnut Mt. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday November 29, 2016 at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
