Mary Rose Wallace, 90, of Hinton passed over to her eternal reward, Wednesday October 24, 2007 at her home surrounded by family and friends following a short illness. Born January 22, 1917 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late John R. and Mae Miller Hobbs. She was a lifelong resident of Summers Co., a Charter Member of the Talcott Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #139, a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church at Hinton where she served as Sunday School Secretary, Circle Chairperson, Leader of Christian Fellowship and various youth activities and Chairperson of the Altar Guild for many years. She was a devoted homemaker and a beloved mother and grandmother, who worked in her community assisting elderly shut-ins and neighbors and friends all her life. Mary was also a Member of the Hobbs Family who were pioneers of Hinton. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. â??Jackâ?? Wallace and one sister, Margaret Elizabeth Hobbs. Survived by two daughters, Karen Conrad and husband Mike of Middletown, OH and Mary K. Harvey and husband James of Talcott; one son, John and Kathy Wallace of Street, MD; one step-daughter, Judith Miller of Hinton; eleven grandchildren, Dr. David Bennett, Robin Chenoweth, Heather Hicks, Shane Harvey, Brett Harvey, Clint Harvey, Tonya Hunter, Dr. James C. Miller, James Wallace, Jeffrey Wallace and Jill Elkner and sixteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Hinton with the Rev. Dr. Barbara Romfo and Rev. Robert Glaser officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. During her life Mary helped carry her grandchildren on their journey through life so it is fitting that her grandsons will carry her as pallbearers to her final resting place. Men of the First Presbyterian Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral Information: 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Hinton First Presbyterian Church.
