Mary J. Ward, 84, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Hospital.
Born August 16, 1933 at Brooks she was a daughter of the late John Bragg and Josie Cales Bragg Neighbors and stepfather, Pete Neighbors.
Mary was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon Ward; two sons, Connie and Gary Ward; one granddaughter, Beth Berry; six brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Barbara Sears (Jack), Betty Woodrum (Jerry), Margie Gross (Ronnie), Debra Toler (Mike), Peggy Meadows (Michael), David Ward (Sharon), Jimmy Ward (Peggy), Carol White (Kevin); thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Fox Cemetery at Brooks with Pastor Dave Spencer officiating.
Son-in-laws and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
