McGuire Blankenship

Drema D. McGuire Blankenship, 80, of Hinton died Friday, December 03, 2010
at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following a short illness.
Born June 9, 1930 at Sandstone she was a daughter of the late Everett Houston and Reva Gill Cales.
She was a loving mother who nurtured and tenaciously protected her children as well as being an entrepreneur having lived most of her life in Summers Co. Drema enjoyed spending time with her neighborhood friends and family, an avid sports enthusiast as well as an accomplished musician, poet, songwriter who was proficient with many musical instruments and a member of the Hinton Moose Lodge. Drema was baptized into the Church of Christ in Springdale at an early age.
Preceding her in death is one brother, Kermit Cales and one sister, Sandra Faye Cales and Jewell Cales.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five children; Carmen McGuire and wife Bonnie of Hinton, Dennis McGuire of Hinton, Echols ?Tinker? Cales and wife Carol of Jumping Branch, Angie Blankenship of Charlotte, NC and Greg Blankenship and wife Sherry of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three brothers, Lowell Gene Cales and wife Ronnie, Jennings Cales and wife Nelsy and Roger Cales and wife Peggy; three sisters, Gerena Steel, Joan Netral and husband Charles and Judy Biggs and husband Clarence, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Freddie Steel and John McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the McGuire ? Hanshew Cemetery at Springdale. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6- 8 P.M. Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
