Melvin McGuire, 59, of Tug Creek went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his home following a short illness.
Born February 9, 1951 at Meadow Bridge he was the son of the late Clyde Elwood and Betty Fitzpatrick McGuire. A disabled mechanic for Meadows Scrap and Metal, was of the Christian Faith, enjoyed working on cars, fishing and spending time with his family. Melvin was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Preceded in death by two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Martha Bragg McGuire; two daughters, Katrina McGuire and companion Corey Stonebakken of Meadow Bridge and Becky McGuire and companion Brian Burns of Rainelle; one step-daughter, Connie Smith of Hinton; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Helen McGuire of Meadow Bridge and Nila Weiss and husband James of Michigan; two brothers, Calvin McGuire of Meadow Bridge and Donald McGuire of Lewisburg.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from noon until service time on Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
