Michael Keith Jennings, 29, of Jumping Branch died Saturday, August 1, 2009 following an accident while fishing on the Bluestone River near Lilly.
Born October 1, 1979 in Beckley, he was a son of Larry R. Jennings of Sandstone and Ruth Ann ?Susie? Jennings of Jumping Branch. A 1998 graduate of Summers County High School, an employee of the West Virginia Parkways Authority where he worked in the Maintenance Department. Michael?s great passion was for the outdoors where he loved to hunt and fish. He attended the Hinton Gospel Tabernacle.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harry ?Pud? Ward and paternal grandparents, Samuel and Marie Hall Jennings.
Besides his parents he is survived by, one brother, Larry Steven Jennings and fiancée Jennifer Gravely of Jumping Branch; two sisters, Amanda Nicole Jennings and Brittany Suzanna Jennings both of Jumping Branch; maternal grandmother, Mary E. Ward of Chestnut Mtn.; stepmother, Wanda Jennings of Sandstone; one step-brother, James Patton Mills of Sandstone and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Lawrence Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Friend Ward Cemetery on Ward Bench. Friends may call from noon until service time on Thursday.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
