Michelle Leigh Palmer, 31, of Lowell went home to be with the Lord, Monday, June 7, 2010 at her home following a sudden illness.
Michelle was born March 26, 1979 at Beckley, WV and was the daughter of David and Kathy Wills Palmer of Lowell.
She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church at Powley?s Creek, a 1998 Graduate of Summers County High School where she played for the Lady Bobcats Basketball Team earning recognition including; 1996-97 Honorable Mention ?AA? All Coalfield Conference, 1995-96 and 1996-97 ?AA? State Final Four Team and 1996-97 ?AA? Coalfield Conference Championship Team. She also obtained athletic honors for the Bobcats Track Team as a track state qualifier in 1997, was a power hitter for the Lady Bobcat Softball team and participated in the AAU basketball program. Michelle worked for Seneca Health of Lewisburg and loved the outdoors, including fishing, ATV riding and taking care of her animals.
Michelle was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Ray and Josephine Palmer; her Uncle, Bobby Dean Palmer and First Cousin Alex Ray Palmer.
Besides her parents those left to cherish her memory include; two brothers, Johnathan Palmer, of Lowell and Joseph Palmer and wife Kimberly of Dawson; one niece, Raelyn Grace Palmer of Lowell; one nephew, Aidan Joseph Palmer of Dawson; Maternal grandparents, M.B. (Bea) and Betty Cochran Wills of Hilldale;
Uncles, Mark Wills of Hilldale, Mike Palmer and wife Laurie of Lowell, Ronnie Palmer and wife Mary of Lowell, David Keatley and wife Terry of Forest Hill and Andy Foster and wife Marilyn of Asheboro, NC.
Numerous cousins including Jennifer Farley, Jamie Dotson, Jordan Wills, Chasta Wills, Courtney Wills, Crystal Delia, Melissa Marion, Amber Cox, Missy Canterbury and Carla Rudd; and a close friend, Bobbie Brady and numerous relatives and friends that she loved spending time with.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Keller Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Lowell. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6-9 PM Wednesday.
Pallbears will be Joseph and Johnathan Palmer, Mike Yannuzzi, Mike, Ronnie, and Justin Palmer.
