Mildred Jeanette Bennett

 Mildred Jeanette Adkins Bennett, 88, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord January 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington following a long illness. 

 Born November 16, 1936, in Hinton, she was a daughter of the late Oswald and Bertha Martin Adkins.

 Mildred was a former cook at “The Diner” in Hinton. She was a homemaker who lived her entire life in Summers County. She enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time with her family and friends.

 She was preceded in death by children Wilma Angell, Russell “Shorty” Bennett, Debbie Grimmett, Bobby Bennett, and Gary Keaton, grandson, Russell Lee “Dink” Bennett, and several brothers and sisters.

 Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Connie Ward and husband Timmy; grandchildren, T.J. and C.J. Ward, B.J. Angell, Shannon Angell, Mary Ellen Bennett, and Amber Yancy; great grandchildren Casper and Mitch Bennett, Lisa and Michelle Bennett, Jeanette Grimmett, and Lexi Anderson; several great great grandchildren; one special cousin and caretaker, Stacy Pitzer; her beloved canine, Odie; as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.

 Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors. Timmy Ward, Billy Dan Gill, Gary Bragg, Buck Brown, Tyler Pitzer, and Johnny Ward will serve as pallbearers.

  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of sympathy be made to the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors toward funeral expenses.
