Mildred M. Herald, 79, of Barger Springs went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home following a long illness.
Born October 23, 1932 at Capeles, WV she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Leona B. Southerland Puckett. A lifelong resident of Summers Co. she was a homemaker who enjoyed reading her bible, listening to gospel music and spending time with her family and friends. Mildred was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceded in death by her husband, William O. Herald Sr. and two great granddaughters, Lisa Marie and Kara Dawn Proffitt.
Those left to cherish her memory include five children, Marie Thompson of Princeton, Norma Garcia and husband Sonny of Barger Springs, Billy Herald and wife Elaine of Princeton, Debra Meadows and husband Jeff of Barger Springs and Birdine Hungate and husband Patrick of VA; eight grandchildren, Angel Angle, Melissa Garcia, Victor Garcia III, Scott Herald, Michael Garcia, William Farley, Jessica Hall and David Garcia; fifteen great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one brother, Richard E. Puckett and wife Mary Anna of Thompson Valley, VA.
Graveside services and burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Tim Spencer officiating. There will be no visitation. Friends may gather at the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
