Mildred I. Lilly, 63, of Madams Creek, passed into eternal rest Saturday, March 24, 2012 following a long illness.
Born July 5, 1948, in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Madlean T. Adkins.
Mildred formerly attended the Hinton Church of Christ as long as her health permitted. She attended Hinton High School and was later employed by the Summers Co. Board of Education where she served as a cook. Mildred was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing her own flowers, reading, crocheting, antiques and decorating.
Other than her mother she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Burman G. and Emma Jane Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Bob G. Lilly of Madams Creek; four children, Kim Morgan and husband Vic of Lewisburg, WV and Robert G. Lilly of Madams Creek; twin daughters, Sherri L. Turner and husband Greg of Madams Creek and Terri Lilly also of Madams Creek; seven grandchildren, Brad, Zach and Josh Morgan, Jordan Cales, Tyler and Ally Lane and Alexis Ratcliffe; one sister, Helen Sears and husband Leonard of Hinton and several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held at 2:00PM Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with John McCain officiating. Burial followed in the Lilly Family Cemetery at Jumping Branch.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
