Mildred F. Waddell Meadows, 89 of Hinton went home surrounded by her family, Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.
Born Dec. 23, 1929 at Glen Morgan, WV she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Waddell and Lona Wills Waddell Myers.
She was a lifelong resident of Summers County, a member of The First Baptist Church of Hinton, and their Fidelis Class. She was a loving Wife, Mother, MaMa (grandmother), and Great- Grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Kenneth E. Meadows in 2003, her sweet youngest daughter, Patricia G. Meadows in 2014, both of her step daughters Nancy L. Brown and Norma Jo "Penny" Conti, and son-n-law Richard "Dick" Conti. Also preceding her death were her only brother Robert A. Waddell Jr. and one sister Shirley Waddell Yancey.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter Deloris Meadows Allen (James) with whom Mildred had made her home the last 4 years; 11 grandchildren, Jeff Ballengee (Rebecca), Denise Allen Massey (Roger Sr.), Nedra Allen (Dave Holland), Nathan Allen (Victoria), Toni Conti (Lori), Mike Conti (Carrie), Chris Conti (Melissa), Scott Conti (Amanda), Ed Westbrook (Kay), Steve Westbrook (Janice) and Ginger Westbrook Rushton (Jeffrey); 6 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Haleigh, and Kole Ballengee, Grady and Lyllian Allen, and Roger Massey Jr.; along with 16 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren from her husband's previous marriage. She is also survived by one sister Shelva Waddell Malek along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton with Pastors Grant Petitt, and Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers: Jeff Ballengee, Nathan Allen, Roger Massey, Dave Holland, Toni Conti, Mike Conti, Chris Conti, Scott Conti, Kole Ballengee, and Grady Allen.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank her doctor, Dr. Stan Day, very special caregivers Susie Meadows and Barbara Cales, the Hospice House of Southern WV and staff, Lisa Woods, Maggie Meade, and Darlene Bennett for all of their care.
