Mildred E. Grimmett Richmond, 77, of Elk Knob, died at 3:40 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at her home, following a long illness. Born December 6, 1927 at Big Creek in Summers Co., she was the daughter of the late Otis and Ida Williams Grimmett. Mrs. Richmond was a homemaker and had worked for about 10 years as a mail carrier. She was a member of the Judson Freewill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Richmond, one sister, Ruby Wheeler and an infant brother. Survived by her husband of 60 years, E.M. ?Shorty? Richmond at home, two sons, Charles Richmond and wife Imogene and Noah C. ?Roger? Richmond and wife Mary all of Hix, six granddaughters, one step granddaughter and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Wilford Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Bobby Wykle, Larry Grimmett, Hayward Grimmett, Randy Ward, Edward Adkins and Basil Basham.
