Mildred B. Russell, 69, of Hinton passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born September 20, 1943 at McDowell County, WV she was a daughter of the late Shafter and Almentia Bowman Day.
Mildred was a graduate of Gary High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Thomas Russell; two brothers, Alfred and James Day; one sister, Pauline Alice McKenzie and a step-daughter, Deborah Ann Russell.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Lisa Ratliff-Blair and husband Shawn of South Carolina; one son, Sammy Day; four step-sons, Dallas, James and Douglas Russell and Thomas Vaughn; one step-daughter, Barbara and one grandson, Kevin Lee Paul II of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery on Freezeland Mountain. Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
