Nadie Jane Lilly, 94, of Hinton, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 following a short illness.
Born December 24, 1920 at Beelick Knob, Fayette County, She was the daughter of the late Ira C. and Elsie Bennett Lusher.
Nadie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton where she served as a Sunday School teacher of the Fidelis ladies class for many years. She passed her love of God to many throughout the years. Nadie loved her church and reading her Bible. She was a 1939 graduate of Hinton High School, an employee of Brier's Furniture for 30 years, and a member of the Hinton Women's Club. She lived most of her life in Summers County and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Leon Cooper; second husband, Carl H. Lilly; daughter, Suzanna Cales; grandson, Michael Cole; sisters, Tessie Lusher and Lorraine West; and brother, Arnold Lusher.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, H.F. Cooper and wife Betty of Hinton, Nancy Cooper Hogle and husband Claude of Hinton, and Greg "Pick" Lilly and wife Nancy of Jumping Branch; grandsons, Tanner and Tucker Lilly; granddaughter, Melonie Cole Reed and husband Scott; great grandchild, Will Cales; special brother in law, Joe Cooper; and special niece and nephew, Ronald and Freda Lusher.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Hinton with Pastors Jeff Canterbury and Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the St. Judes Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, T.N., 38105.
