Nancy Canterbury

Nancy Jane Bower Erskine Canterbury, 74, of Granite Falls, NC, formerly of Summers Co., died Sunday morning following a long illness.Born October 12, 1934 at Jumping Branch, she was the youngest daughter of the late Elijah A. and Ollie Dodd Bower.Nancy was a home maker, she had lived most of her live in Summers and Monroe Counties. She had moved to NC in 1980.Preceded in death by her first husband, William (Billy) Erskine, Sr. Sept. 17, 1977 and her second husband, Howard Canterbury July 6, 2001 and one stepson Richard Canterbury.Survived by three sons; William Erskine Jr. of NC, Roger Erskine of Jumping Branch and Jackie Erskine of NC, three daughters Carol Pieczynski, Lola Cowick, and Patsy Gragg all of NC, 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 2 Stepsons; Robert and Darrel Canterbury and 7 Step Great Grandchildren.Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor J.D. Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Worley Family Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday.
