Nancy A. Lightner, 87, of Brooks passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.
Born June 4, 1932 in Fayette County she was a daughter of the late George and Dolly Cline Webb.
Nancy was a homemaker who loved the outdoors, her animals, shopping, painting, country music and summer vacations. She was a very patriotic lady. Nancy's most joyous moments were at family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Lightner; one son, Charles Vannatter; two sisters, Hazel Hickman and Ila May King and one brother, Lee King Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Gail Howard and husband Dewain of Martinsburg and Rebecca Greenaway of Brooks; four grandchildren, Aimee Bruce and husband Michael of Harrisburg, NC, Richard Howard of Clearwater, FL, Christopher Howard of Louisville, KY and Brianna Howard of Boston, MA; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Gwen Mullens of Gallatin, MO; one stepson, Pastor Lewis Sanson of Oak Hill; her beloved dog, Lindsey and two cats, Lexi and Suzy.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Fayette County. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
