Neva May Blankenship, 72, of Pipestem passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home following a sudden illness.
Born April 17, 1944 at Summers County she was a daughter of the late Zed and Frances Louise Young.
Neva was a member of the Rocky Mt. Church at Pipestem. She was a former employee of Oak Supper Club and McDonalds of Hinton. A lifelong resident of Summers County, she enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Neva was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Rodney Blankenship.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gerald Bowman Blankenship of Pipestem, Oda Welch and husband Cecil of Cleveland, OH, James Blankenship of Pipestem and Stephanie Blankenship and companion James Vandall of Pipestem; five grandchildren, C. W. Welch, Stephanie Welch, Blake Vandall, Lindsay Vandall and Kiley Vandall; three sisters, Margie Keats and husband Harvey of Canada, Mary Southern of Princeton and Nancy Strickland of Princeton and three brothers, Melvin Young and wife Vicky of Princeton, William "Tootsie" Young and wife Wanda of Oakvale and Kenny Young of FL.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Rocky Mt. Community Church at Pipestem with Butch Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mt. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until time of services Sunday at the Rocky Mt. Community Church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
