Nora Hicks

Nora Alice Garten Hicks, 89, of Kernersville, NC formerly of Ramp died July 22, 2007 at the High Point Regional Hospital following a short illness. Born January 21, 1918 at Judson, she was a daughter of the late Elijah Joseph and Priscilla Alice Hogan Garten. Retired from Burlington Socks, Kernersville, NC. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by her infant son, Dewey Conard Hicks and several brothers and sisters. Survived by one son, Dean Hicks and wife Delores of Kernersville, NC; two granddaughters, Angela Tomes and husband Jay of Kernersville, NC and Adena Foster and husband Wayne of Ocala, FL and seven great grandchildren, Ariston and Josiah Tomes, Megan, Tara, Conner, Jared and Jeremiah Foster. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 26, 2007 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Lloyd Hart and Roy Scarboro officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Beckley. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Funeral Parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
