Norma J. Hicks of Elk Knob Road, Hix went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 25, 2010 at her home following a long illness.
Norma was born at Talcott to the late Arnett and Dorothy Sears Adkins. She enjoyed going to church at Freedom Baptist Church where she was a member, homemaker, loved cooking, sewing and spending time with her friends and family. She had lived most of her life in Summers County.
Preceded in death by a sister, Freda Hicks.
Survived by her husband, Lloyd F. Hicks of Hix; one son, Eric S. Hicks of Hix; one brother, Howard Arnett Adkins and wife Betty of Talcott; four sisters, Jerolee Cales and husband Michael of Talcott, Arnell Seldomridge and husband Tim of Lewisburg, Cindy Spangler and husband Robert of Charlotte, NC and Wilma Gardisky of Hinton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor George Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Charles Cox, Doug Ayers, Jack Cales, Kevin Wills, Larry Cox and Jim Gross will serve as pallbearers.
