Norman Edward â??Edâ?? Adkins, 85, of Hinton, died at 7:30 P. M. Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Summers Co. App Reg. Hospital following a long illness. Born March 27, 1921 at Sandstone, he was the son of the late Norman Casky and Gertie Susan Taylor Adkins.Mr. Adkins was a lifelong resident of Summers County and he was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by four brothers; James, Harnold, Johnny, and Ernest Adkins. Survived by his wife Glenna Mogene Hicks Adkins of Hinton, three daughters; Norma Sims and husband Jason of Hinton, Edna Adkins of Elton and Holly Adkins and friend Danny Mann of Talcott, three step sons; Berthel Cales Jr. and Hershel Cales and wife Sandra of Hinton and Robert Cales of Beckley one step daughter; Ginger Hunt and husband Lee of Beckley, four grandchildren, one sister, Edith Andrews of Meadow Bridge, three brothers; Curtis Adkins and wife Louise of Sandstone, Eldridge Adkins and wife Denise of Latty, OH and Arthur Adkins and wife Judy of Woodbridge, VA, one sister-in-law Paulett Adkins of Hinton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1:00 P. M. Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor James T. Toler officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 6 to 9 P. M. Wednesday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
