Norris C. Cox, 68, of Lebanon, VA, formerly of Ellison, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital at Abingdon, VA following a long illness.
Born July 13, 1946 at Ellison he was a son of the late Josiah Fred and Martha Elizabeth Farley Cox.
Norris was a timber man in WV and VA who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, being outdoors, tending to his animals and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was of the Baptist faith. Norris was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include five brothers, Fred L. Cox and wife Jane of Ellison, Thomas E. Cox and wife Drema of Franklin, OH, Robert C. Cox and wife Connie of Ellison, Richard A. Cox and wife Judy of Franklin, OH and Randy N. Cox and wife Diane of Ellison; one sister, Angela Dawn Yoney of Beckley; special friend, Lawrence Alexander of Dayton, OH and several niece and nephews whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many of his beloved friends at Mountain View Rest and Retirement Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Mountain Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Dunns with Pastor Wayne Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Mountain Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Dunns.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
