Novagene Keatley

Novagene â??Novaâ?? Keatley, 72, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend from Pence Springs passed away early Friday afternoon following a brief but serious illness. Nova was born on September 13, 1932 to her parents Stires and Cleo Sherwood. Her parents preceded her in death, Her sisters Tressie Atkinson, Wilma Sherwood, and Leah â??Nadineâ?? Carter also preceded her in death. Nova is survived by her loving husband Alfred â??Byrdâ?? Keatley, and her children, Debbie Leedom and Mike Keatley and his wife Tearsa. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Shawn and Chrissy Leedom, and Tyler and Caitlyn Keatley. Also surviving Nova are her brothers, Mike Sherwood and his wife Debbie, Kenneth Sherwood and his wife Nancy, Kes Sherwood and his wife Louise. Nova is survived by one sister, June Wygal and her husband Ernest. Nova is survived also by her brother-in-law, George Keatley, and her sisters-in-law, Patty Houston and her husband Bob and Eleanor Persinger and her husband Leonard. A long list of extended family and friends also survive this wonderful lady. Nova touched the heart of every person she knew. She was the president of the womenâ??s fellowship at the Pence Springs Community Church, as well as an active member of the Church. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Pence Springs Community Church with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Pence Springs. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church. Her family would like to extend their thoughts of gratitude to all those who have prayed for Nova, the ones who came to visit, and those that sent cards and flowers. Nova and her family appreciated these thoughtful gestures.
