Orbra B. "Sonny" Angell

            Pastor Orbra B. “Sonny” Angell Jr., 77, of Beech Run is now absent from the body and present with the Lord following a long illness.

            Born November 4, 1946 at Hinton he was the son of the late Orbra Benford Angell and Margaret Ann Thompson Angell.  Sonny was the pastor of the Beech Run Baptist Church for many years while his health permitted.  A former stone mason, construction worker and mechanic he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.  

            Preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth G. Hartwell Angell, his second wife, Pearley Gross Angell and one nephew, Brad V. Angell.

            Those left to cherish his memory include, two sons, Benford Scott Angell and wife Donna of War Ridge and Steven E. Angell and wife Michelle of Beech Run; one daughter, Belinda Sarver and husband Robert of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Steven, Ashley, Samantha, Michael, Scottie, Felicia, Chloe and Lil Bob; several great grandchildren; six siblings, Sue Angell, Mickey Angell and wife Amy, Alice Harvey and husband Tony, Barbara Meadows and husband Kenny, Poncho Angell and wife Patricia and Zina Angell and wife Cathy and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

            Memorial services will be held 7:00 pm Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:30 pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral parlors.

            At Sonny’s request cremation services have been entrusted to the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.

            In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Pro-Life Advocacy Group of your choice.  Psalm 139:13-16
