Orville James Plumley, 84, of Forest Hill, WV, went home to be with the Lord on
August 16, 2011, following a brief illness. He was born June 9th, 1927, in Abraham, WV to the late Allen and Leona Richmond Plumley.
Orville was better known as "O.J." or "Punkin" to those that knew him. He was a retiree of C&O/CSX Railroad as a Trackman on the "Railgang". After retirement he kept busy with numerous activities such as dancing, gardening, recycling, and woodcarving. He faithfully attended Indian Mills Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lyda Lee Reed Plumley, whom he was married to for 40 years, two sisters; Thelma Plumley and Emeline Plumley, one brother; Herbert Plumley, and two infant brothers.
His survivors include two daughters, Starr Lynn Plumley Kessler and husband Bill of Shelby, OH, Sandra Gayle Plumley Gillespie and husband Wayne of Ballard, WV, one son; Timothy James Plumley of Hinton, WV, four brothers; Billy Plumley of Arizona, Edward Plumley of Beckley, WV, Jim Plumley of Alabama and Allen Plumley of Ballard, WV, four grandchildren; Dawn Trosper and husband Allen of Shelby, OH, Matthew Kessler of Sandstone, WV, Cassie Miller and husband Corey of Ballard, WV, and Kelsie Gillespie of Ballard, WV, and also his special friend and companion of 16 years, Addie Maddy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Herb Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the O'Brien Cemetery in Hix, WV. Friends may call from noon until time of service at the Funeral Parlors. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
