Osbey D. Cox, 71, of Big Creek entered into eternal rest Wednesday September 7, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.
Born May 5, 1945 at Crumps Bottom he was the son of the late Clarence Duard and Garnett Marie Meador Cox. Osbey was a construction worker and farmer who enjoyed horses, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends especially "little man".
Preceded in death by one sister, Shelvia Jean Cox Beheler and two brothers, Clarence Junior Cox and Dewey Lee Cox.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Joyce Adkins of NC, Tammy Bonds and husband Joseph of Hilldale, Debbie Garrett of Hinton, Osbey Zimmerman and wife Sarah of Hedgesville, Amber Reed and husband Jay of Alderson, Ashley Cox Richmond and husband Shawn of Talcott and James Zimmerman and Charles Oxley whom he cared for as his own, ten grandchildren, one great grandson, two brothers, Charles Cox of Hinton and Roy Cox and wife Sue of Hinton, six sisters, Sylvia Howard of VA, Linda Osborne of Lanark, Joyce Fox and husband Cecil of Hinton, Sadie Grimmett and husband Wayne of Hinton, Goldie Ward of Hinton and Sandra "Sam" Lane and husband Frank of Hinton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday September 11, 2016 from 5-7 pm at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
