Otis Wayne Long, 75 of Hinton passed away Thursday June 28, 2012 at Bower?s Hospice House following a long illness.
Otis was born December 7, 1936 at Wayside and was a son of the late Baldwin Long and Carrie Hudson Long Davis.
He was a lifelong resident of Summers County, and served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. Otis was an antique collector who loved playing cards and spending time with his family and friends as well as Kirks Restaurant.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his step father, Verdo Davis; an infant son, Robert Wayne Long; maternal grandparents, Ote Hudson and Ada Hudson Wilson; paternal grandparents, Byrd and Viola Long and Mark David Long.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Diana Miller and Husband Robert of AL; two sons, Douglas Wayne Long of Clarksburg and Wayne Long; two granddaughters, Taylor Nicole Miller and DaNaylee Alexia Long; one sister, Brenda Dodson of Culpepper, VA; one nephew, Timmy Dodson and numerous brother and sister in laws of the Faye Ward Family whom he cared deeply for.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 1 P.M. until time of services at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Mark A. Long, Derrick Seth Long, Jim Nelson Sr., Jim ?Jif? Nelson Jr., James Taylor and Danny Foster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Dodson, Charlie Ward, Junior Walters, Porter Bennett Sr., Randy Farmer and Mike Rule.
