Patty Cales Lilly, 78 of Avis, Hinton died Tuesday afternoon, December 22, 2009 at Summers County ARH following a short illness.
Born November 15, 1931 in Hinton, she was a daughter of the late Polly Frances Briers Miller and James H. Cales. Former employee of G.C. Murphy?s Company when she lived in Hinton and provided private child services for over forty years in Texas and Virginia. Member of the Gretna First Baptist Church in Gretna, VA where she served as a member of the adult choir and the ladies chorus, taught Children?s Church, director of the preschool and Sunday school dept. and served on the deacon board.
Preceeded in death by her step-father, Harry Cecil Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years John Lilly of Avis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Ernest Roebuck and Grover Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
