Paul Sears

Paul Eugene â??Geneâ?? Sears, 81, of Talcott, died April 26, 2007 in the Welch Community Hospital. He had been in the Summers Co. ARH Long Term Care for the past four and a half years. He had recently been in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the last month. He was the son of the late John Allen Sears and Sara Caroline Bennett Sears.Mr. Sears was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marie Hodge Sears, July 16, 2001. Three sisters, Effie Sears, Bessie and Dorothy Adkins and two brothers, Roy and Fred Sears. He was a member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church for 28 years. He was a machine operator at the Universal Farm and Clamp Company Plant in Chicago, IL for 8 years. He also worked for the C&O and CSX Railway Co. for 42 years. He was a laborer and a member of the Maintenance of Way Union. He is survived by one step son, Denver W. Abshire and wife Vernice of Talcott, one step granddaughter, Lisa Stalnaker and Husband Matthew of Talcott, two step great grandchildren, Rebecca Ann and Daniel Paul Stalnaker of Talcott. Two sisters, Lottie Parker and Norma Garten of Talcott and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6-8 P.M. Monday.
