Edna Pauline Ward, 84 of Pipestem passed away at her home on Friday January 8th, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer.



Born, Edna Pauline Cooper on the 14th of January 1925 at Little Bluestone in Summers County. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Zula Lyon Cooper.



Pauline spent her childhood in Summers County where she with few exceptions has been a lifelong resident. She was of the Christian faith. Mother will be missed for her quiet demeanor, loving heart and love for life. In her leisure time she enjoyed exploring the back roads of Summers and surrounding counties. Visits to the Smokey Mountains were also a real treat she thoroughly enjoyed. A friendly game of cards (set back) would keep her going for hours on end. She is especially fond of her cat, ?Tom?.



She was preceded in death by her husband Glaspy O. Ward in 1979. Pauline was the youngest of six children and was preceded in death by her four brothers Bill, Ted, Ray and Don Cooper and by her only sister Ruby Keaton.



Pauline was the precious Mother of six children. They and their spouses are: Judy Thompson and Arthur, Linda Donovan and Walt, Gary Dale Ward and Barbara, Larry Ward and Gwen , Barry Ward and Jean Ward. She has 15 grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dallas Payton officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday January 10, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton.
