Petrus Kostas Karras, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House.
Born March 8, 1931 at Barnstable, MA he was the son of the late Kostas and Anna Wilde Karras. Retired United States Navy Veteran having served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict where he received a Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and Device, Vietnam Service Medal Award and a Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon. Retired pipefitter for Civil Service with 36 years of service and a member of the Foreign Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, making yard signs and yard art, roller skating, little league baseball coaching and bowling.
Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia West Karras; six brothers, George, Louis, James, Peter, Paul and John Karras and one sister, Pauline Ginn.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, David Wayne Karras Sr. and wife Rachel Cooper Karras and James Kostas Karras wife Mary Vergakis both of Hampton Roads, VA; one daughter, Terrie Karras and husband Jeffrey Conklin of Hampton Roads, VA; two stepdaughters, Stacey Conrad of Hinton and Pamela Weikle and husband David of Talcott; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one brother, Teddy Karras and wife Mary Lou of Cape Cod, MA; one sister, Mary Montagna of Cape Cod, MA and a special caregiver, Miranda Madden.
Graveside service and burial will be held 11:00 am Friday July 20, 2018 at Lilly-Crews Cemetery with Pastor Scott Ross officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery from 10:30 A.M. until time of service Friday at the cemetery.
