Rassie Wayne Lilly, 77, of Princeton, formerly of Hinton, passed away peacefully at 10:35 a.m. on December 31, 2018.
Born on March 29, 1941 at Pipestem he was a son of the late Cecil and Elizabeth Pettrey Lilly.
Rassie was a disabled United States Army Veteran who enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking. He was of the Pentacostal faith and spent many days in prayer alone with his bible before his health started to fail. Rassie will be lovingly missed by his entire family and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Keaton, Ruth Garten and Frances Duncan and two brothers, Delbert and Woodrow Lilly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Naomi Florence at home; three children, Cecil and wife Carla Lilly of Lewisburg, Yetta Bragg and husband Michael of Oklahoma City, OK and Melissa Anderson-Beggs and husband Preston of Princeton; nine grandchildren, Casey Workman, Kerissa and Kaylee Conner, Lyndsie and Landen Bragg, Caleb and Cassie Lilly, Brennon Anderson and Hannah Beggs; a special canine companion, JoJo.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Fox Cemetery at Brooks. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be son, Cecil Lilly, son in laws, Michael Bragg and Preston Beggs, grandsons, Caleb Lilly and Brennon Anderson and a special family friend Denny Woolwine.
The family would like to thank the Department of Veterans Affairs in Beckley and Richmond VA for the care and compassion throughout the years and also a special family friend Denny Woolwine for the devoted time spent to care for Rassie at home the last two years of his beautiful life.
