Rebecca "Becky" Cooper

Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Cooper, 56, of Nimitz went home to be with the Lord Friday November 20, 2020 at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born November 17, 1964 at Hopewell, VA she was the daughter of Darrell G. and Mildred F. Moten Lilly of Nimitz.  Becky graduated from Hinton High School in 1983, Concord University with her bachelors degree in education and she then continued her education at Marshall University where she received her masters degree.  A retired teacher of the Summers Co. Board of Education where she loved teaching at the Jumping Branch Elementary School, attended Bluestone Baptist Church, served on the Board of Directors for the Lilly Family Reunion where she served as Chairman of the Souvenir Booth; former member of the Hinton Ruritan Club and a volunteer with the Summers County Christmas Toy Fund.

Besides her parents those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 21 years, Kenny Cooper Jr. of Nimitz; two sisters, Deborah Lusk and husband Todd of Narrows, VA and Pamella Mounts and husband Todd of Nimitz; five nieces and nephews, Nicolas and Christopher Mounts, Brock Lusk, Tori Robertson and husband Wyatt and Orian Post; four great nieces and nephews, Connor Lusk, Lilly Grace Robertson, Oaklyn and Weston Mounts; mother in law, Brenda Cooper of Forest Hill; sister in law, Kimberly Post and husband Isaac of Bridgeport; four aunts, Loretta Cox and husband Ibra of Ellison, Edna Richmond of Jumping Branch, Lorene Lilly of Smithfield, PA and Margie Hicks and husband Clarence of Beckley and two uncles, Harold Lilly of Ohio, David Moten and wife Rose of Jumping Branch and a special cousin Sherri Lilly of Smithfield PA, several other cousins and a special friend, Jennifer Willey of Niceville, FL.

At Becky’s request services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance P. O. Box 32141 New York, NY 10087-2141 or the Peyton Hospice House 1265 Maplewood Ave. Lewisburg, WV  24901.
