Rex Dillon

August 21, 1938 — March 13, 2005

Rex Lee Dillon, 66, of Marie, passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2005 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a long illness. Born August 21, 1938, at Calloway Heights, in Raleigh Co., he was the son of the late Lacy H. and Sarah Hughes Dillon. In 1948, he moved to Marie, WV, where he had lived most of his life. Rex worked with Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, MD from 1958 until 1965. Since that time on, he was self employed primarily in the dairy and beef business. Rex was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church, the Marie Ruritan Club, the Loyal Order of the Moose at Hinton and the Hinton Elks Lodge. He attended the Teel Elementary School at Calloway Heights and was a graduate of Greenville High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelly and Dale and two sisters, Zella and Evelyn. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Nancy Guy Dillon, two sons; Alan Dillon and wife Brenda of Abingdon, VA and John Behanna and wife Brenda of Plant City, FL, two daughters, Dawn Looney and husband Bud of Fredericksburg, VA and Lindsey Dillon of Marie, WV, three stepdaughters; Beth Plumley and husband Jerry of Hinton, WV, Jeana Boblett and husband Matt of Shady Spring, WV and Lisa Hatcher and husband Sean of Shady Spring, WV. Rex?s memory will also live in the hearts of his grandchildren, Kasey and Krystin Dillon, Bryan and Justin Looney, Faith and Jesse Behanna, Lexie Dillon, Morgan and Taylor Plumley, Amber Stone and Noah Boblett and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with special friend, Pastor Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Marie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers: Patrick Guy, Mike Allen, Paul ?Buddy? Light, Larry Moorman, George Edwards and Oswald Yates.
