Richard Dale â??Buddyâ?? Ward Sr., 52 of Upland died at 1:30 A.M. April 1, 2008 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 26, 1955 at Hinton he was a son of the late Albert Lee and Pauline Francis Ward Ward. Buddy was a retired construction worker for Geupel Construction Co. where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and a member of the Community Christian Church in Hinton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin, Russell Dean Ward, Albert Wayne Ward and Ronald Edward Ward. Survived by his wife of 32 years Goldie Faye Cox Ward of Upland; three sons, Richard Dale Ward Jr. and wife Jeannie, Jonathan Ward and companion Susie Adkins and Justin Ward all of Hinton; four precious grandchildren who were the light of Buddyâ??s life, Carrie Blake, Albert Lee, Pamela Rose and Katelyn Grace Ward all of Hinton; one brother, Adolphus Gene Ward and wife Barbara of Brooks; three uncles, Plummer Ward and wife Wanda of Hix, James Ward and wife Mimmie of Covington, VA and C.M. â??Fritzâ?? Ward of Richmond, VA; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Ward, Linda Carol Ward and Janet Cales all of Hinton and his mother-in-law, Garnet Cox of Big Creek. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Wilford Adkins and George Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery on Chestnut Mtn.Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral parlors. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
