Ricky Adkins

Ricky Ray Adkins, 44, of Hinton, died in his sleep at home on April 2, 2005. Born December 13, 1960 at Hinton, he was a son of James Nelson Gill of Pipestem and the late Patsy Jean Adkins Gill. He had lived all his life in Summers Co. and was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Burman and Emma Jane Adkins and his Paternal Grandparents, Pembroke and Rachel Gill and a sister, Carolyn Ann Adkins. Survived by his wife, Donna Harmon Adkins at home, two son, Sgt. Kevin Adkins of Fort Hood, TX and Larry Jarrells at home, three daughters; Amanda Jarrells and Diana Jarrells at home and Traci Tate of Hinton, three grandchildren whom he adored, Kirsten and Cory Adkins of Beckley and Karen Adkins of Charleston, two brothers; Roy Adkins and wife Ruth of Pipestem and David Gill of Hinton, four sisters, Delsie Brown and husband Alonzo of Hinton, Penny Boone and husband Ray of Tug Creek, Bertie Adkins and husband Chuckie of Forest Hill and Brenda Adkins Rea of Virginia, several nieces and nephews that he thought of as his own; Cindy Pitzer and husband Charles, Lisa Brown and companion Scott Hoffer, Sommer Graham and husband Kevin, Becky Harold and husband Josh, Kristi Thornsbury and husband Alec, Brittany Gwinn, Robin Gill, Keith Gill, Robbie Brown and companion Valerie Wickline, Roy Adkins Jr. and David Gill Jr., great nieces and nephews; Kelli Brown, Stacie Graham, Baliey Harold, Bobbie Jean Brown, Derek Miller, Kevin Graham Jr. and Cody Harold. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-9 P.M. Wednesday. Pallbearers: Billy Gill, Roy Adkins, J.D. Bragg, Kevin Graham, Jonathan Smith and Anthony Gray.
