Rita Muriel Buckland Deninger

            Rita Muriel Buckland Deninger, 91, of Hinton formerly of Shelton, CT entered into eternal rest Saturday January 21, 2023 following a short illness. 

            Born May 7, 1931 at Hinton she was the daughter of the late Archie and Marie Harvey Buckland.  A homemaker she was very active in her community where she dedicated her time and effort to make it a better place to live for everyone.  She also volunteered with Pop Warner Football for many years.  Rita enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics, arts and crafts and making and donating Christmas ornaments.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Deninger and her sister, Glenna Fox.

            Those left to cherish her memory include, one son, Dennis L. Deninger and wife Kristin of Shelton, CT; one daughter, Diane L. Meyer and husband Gregory of Seymour, CT; grandchildren, Kelly Gantarz and husband Allen, Melanie Deninger, Lee Deninger and wife Heather, Jessica Pimental and husband Brett and Cori Pidskalny and husband Robert; great grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Sydney, Lucas, Abigail, Jayden and Brooks; step grandchildren, Andrew Gauvin and Brittany Gauvin; step great grandchild, Anastasia Gauvin; special friends, Ray and Libby Meadows and Alisha Fox.

            Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday January 25, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.

            Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

            In lieu of flower donations of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
