Robert Lee Bower Sr., 64, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 4, 2010.
Born September 1, 1946 in Hinton he was the son of Evangaline Keith of Princeton and Clarence Bower of Beckley. A veteran of the United States Navy and the Merchant Marines Robert was a former employee of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, member of the Bible Baptist Church of Walls, Mississippi and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and animals.
Preceded in death by a special uncle, Lester Massey whom helped to raise Robert and his former wife Ethel Mae Bower on April 1, 2010.
Besides his parents he is survived by two children, Lee Bower and wife Lori of Nimitz and Darlene Bragg and husband Donnie of Jumping Branch; four grandchildren, Austin and Michaela Bower and Bryanna and Dylan Bragg; one half-sister, Connie Mills of Daniels and a special aunt, Jewell Massey of Madams Creek whom helped to raise him.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from noon until service time on Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
