Robert Bumgarner

Robert Ray Bumgarner, 78 of Hix died at his home, 8:30 A.M. June 15, 2008 following a sudden illness. Born June 23, 1929 in South Carolina he was a son of the late George and Veda Bumgarner. A member of the Ramp Holiness Church and a United States Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Jay and Warren Bumgarner. Survived by his wife, Joy Ann Bumgarner; one daughter, Sandy Critchy of Danese; two sons, Raymond Bumgarner of Beckley and Darrell Bumgarner of Cleveland, OH; nine step-children, Sheri Ann Peyton of Orlando, Fl, Don McKinney of Ramp, Roger McKinney of Colfax, NC, Lloyd McKinney of Winston Salem, NC, Robert McKinney of Newton, NC, David McKinney of Ballengee, Sonya Devine of Chattanooga, TN, Joyce Moore of Gainesville, GA and Patricia Halsey of Pilot Mt., NC; two sisters, Lola Rogers of Wytheville, VA and Elizabeth Carr of Springdale; several grand children and great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Julia Mae Ward of Ramp. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oâ??Bryan cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from noon till service time on Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
