Robert W. Currence, 74, of Pipestem died Monday May 21,2007 at his home following an apparent heart attack. Born April 25, 1933 at Mill Creek, WV , he was the son of the late Ford and Ellen Zinkbeil Currence. He lived most of his life in Marietta, GA and was a retired design engineer for Lockheed Martin Corporation. A retired U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Lerona United Methodist Church and the Athens Masonic Lodge. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Marie Lilly Currence. Three daughters Penelope â??Pennyâ?? Currence Dennis and husband Wayne of Boca Raton, FL, Karen Lynn Currence of Holly Springs, GA, and Patricia â??Triciaâ?? Currence Long and husband Jamie of Ft. Hood, TX. Three grandsons Jacob, Seth and Luke. Six sisters, Clara Robinson of Belpre, OH, Jean Thompson of Hanoverer, PA, Ann Phillips of Elkins, WV, Lillie Hill of Belpre, OH, Virginia Corder of Washington, VA and Charlotte Downs of Front Royal, VA. Three brothers Luther Currence of Elkins, WV, William Currence of Alexandria, VA and Charley Currence of Winchester, VA. 22 Nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday at the Lerona United Methodist Church with pastors Olen Robertson and Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Knob Cemetery at Pipestem. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6-8 PM Thursday and at the church one hour prior to services. Jeff Currence, Jeff Lilly, Jamie Johnson, Kevin Lilly and Keith Lilly will serve as pallbearers.
